Where We Started
The Baja Fresh franchise founders were raised on fast food, like many Americans. However, we realized that it was time for things to change in the QSR industry. Instead of relying on heavily-processed, frozen, and dehydrated ingredients, we sought to create a restaurant that offered high-quality, fresh menu items.
But it wasn’t just the menu that needed a revamp in the QSR landscape. We even tried to make the interior of our restaurants feel different, featuring patios, bright lighting, and comfortable seating.
In August of 1990, we opened our first restaurant featuring all-fresh, traditional fire-grilled Mexican favorites. The rest is history!
